Dea Bekteshi, O.D.

Dr. Dea Bekteshi is a distinguished optometrist with over nine years of experience in the eye care field. She developed her passion for vision health early on and has dedicated her career to improving patients’ quality of life through exceptional eye care. Dr. Bekteshi is a key member of the Highland Eye Clinic Pediatric Ophthalmology team, where she specializes in providing comprehensive eye exams for children and adolescents.

Dr. Bekteshi attended the University of North Texas in Denton, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2016. She continued her education at the University of Houston, where she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree, also graduating magna cum laude in 2021. During her academic journey, she was recognized with two Letters of Clinical Excellence and served as Vice President of SAAO, as well as a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society.

Since completing her education, Dr. Bekteshi has gained extensive clinical experience. Her expertise is particularly valuable for pediatric patients requiring specialty contact lenses, including those with keratoconus, where she utilizes RGP and scleral lenses. She is also highly skilled in myopia management, utilizing atropine and orthokeratology (Paragon CRT) to help slow the progression of nearsightedness in children. In addition to routine vision care, she manages various medical ocular conditions and provides thorough post-operative care.

Dr. Bekteshi’s professional journey includes positions at Plano Eye Associates, Cedar Springs Eye Clinic, and Eye Care, Inc., where she managed a diverse range of complex eye conditions. Her background in medical optometry and dry eye services underscores her commitment to providing thorough, compassionate care to her young patients.
